Phethulo Sekome powered Mbombela's way to victory against Black Leopards

Mbombela United has gradually climbed the ladder to the 4th position of the National First Division log table. United are currently sitting on the 4th position with 11 points from 7 matches; closely followed by Black Leopards and Royal Eagles whom they lead on goal difference.

Tingwenyama currently sits on the forth position, just 6 points behind runaway log leaders Baroka FC who have 17 points  while Witbank Spur and Capetown All Stars  occupy position 2 and 3 with 16 points each.

Mbombela United jumped from last week’s position 8 to position 4 following their unpredictable win over Black Leopards in Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday 17 October. Lidoda Duvha welcomed their visitors with an early goal in the first half and doubled the lead in just seven minutes into the second half of what promised to be an easy win for them. Coach Vusi  Mkatshwa  opened his bag of tricks and pulled one goal back through Mxolisi Gumede who finished up Sinethemba “Mgijimi” Njanti’s  workout.

With more pressure building up in the Leopards half, Inky Masuku found the back of the net to equalize for Mbombela United.
Phetulo Sekome who had earlier replaced Mxolisi Gumede   silenced Lidoda Duvha’s legion of fans when he found the back of the net from a set piece just outside the penalty box a few minutes from time.

Tingwenyama will seek to climb more steps up the ladder when they host Cape Town based Milano FC on Sunday 25 October in KaNyamazane Stadium before travelling to Charles Mopedi Stadium for a date against  struggling African Warriors in a midweek encounter on the 28th  of October.
