Sifiso "Master" Thomo grabbed a brace during the Mbombela United's win against Royal Eagles in KaNyamazane Stadium

Sifiso Thomo put Mbombela in the lead as early as the 4th minute and Lobohang Maboe extending the lead to 2 – 0 with a well converted free kick in the 15th minute

The match against Royal Eagles failed to live up to its spectacular as expectated as promised with the visitors falling prey to the lions as they were sent away with a 3 – 0 defeat. The defeat came as a disappointed to hundreds of Royal Eagles’ hired supporters who had to keep their vuvuzelas down as they had nothing to celebrate.

Despite Royal Eagles lineup bearing famous names in the South African soccer circles in the likes of Katlego Mphela, Dominic Isaacs and Khethokwakhe Masuku amoung other seasoned and experienced players, the youthful Tingwenyama jealously defended their territory.

Newly signed Sifiso Thomo put Mbombela in the lead as early as the 4th minute and Lobohang Maboe extending the lead to 2 – 0 with a well converted free kick in the 15th minute. The lead was enough to send an estimated 2000 Mbombela United supporters into a frenzy chanting their famous “Imbombela Iyoo… Abayazi yoo…” tune.
United looked even more lethal in the second half with Sinethemba Njanti coming in to add to the already explosive strike force of Sifiso Thomo and Inky Masuku.

Njanti came close to registering his name on the scoresheet in the 55th minute but his efforts were denied by the upright post, just a few minutes before Thomo drove in the killer blow to the staggering Royal Eagles when he sailed past the defenders to score his second of the day.

The win took Mbombela United to the 7th position on the log standing and the next match is on Sunday the 4th of October against Gauteng based Highlands Park in KaNyamazane at 15h30.
