Mbombela Beat Amazulu FC to Finish 2015 on 3rd Position

Mbombela United won 1 - 0 against Amazulu in Durban's Princess Magogo Stadium to finish 2015 with 24 points from 13 matches

Mbombela United travelled to Durban for a higly anticipated encounter against former PSL giants, Amazulu FC in Princess Magogo Stadium. As expected, the match lived up to the expectations with both team creating exiting goal mouth chances, but in the end, it was Mbombela United’s Sinethemba Njanti who neatly beat Enegry Murambadoro, Amazulu’s goalkeeper in additional time.
The 1 – 0 win against Amazulu ensured that Mbombela Finished the year on 3rd position, with 24 points, just 4 points behind log leaders Baroka FC and 2 points behind 2ND placed Witbank Spurs FC. Mbombela are tied up together with Cape Town All Stars who they beat on goal difference.

Though Amazulu dominated in the centre of the park, they could not penetrate Tingwenyama's solid defence marshalled by former Amazulu defender and Mbombela United's captain of the day, Mxolisi 'Ba' Mayongo. The introduction of Inky Masuku, Sinethemba Njantie and Phetulo Sekome in the second half exposed Usuthu's defence but could not produce any goal until in the extra time. Phetulo seome cutted through Usuthu's defensive midfield to find the unmarked Njantie who made no mistake and scored his third of the season.

Mbombela United's opening match for 2016 is against Vasco Da Gama in Parrow on the 10th of January.
